HI! I'M LINDSEY JOHNSTON.
Academic History
I am currently pursuing a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Career and Technical Education, focused in Leadership, from Athens State University. I plan to graduate in December of 2023. I have been a Society for Human Resources (SHRM) member since I was an undergraduate student at ASU.
I graduated cum laude from Athens State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Management/Human Resources Management in July of 2022. Prior to transferring to ASU, I took classes at the University of South Alabama and at two Alabama Community Colleges- Coastal Alabama in Bay Minette, and Shelton State in Tuscaloosa.
I received my high school diploma in 2005 from Brookwood High School in Brookwood, Alabama where I was involved in the show choir and musical theater. If I could go back in time and give advice to my teenaged self it would be to take dual enrollment or CTE courses in high school, choose something you're passionate about and go for it, and study more!
It is a passion of mine to reach, influence, and direct students, no matter their age, toward career development and education goals that will enable them to be successful, fulfilled, and happy.

Getting Personal
I am married to my husband of 11 years, Josh. We live in the country, about an hour from Mobile, Alabama. We have one dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer named Doc. I have a large, supportive family which includes my favorite people: three awesome nephews and two precious nieces.
My hobbies are playing guitar, writing songs, traveling, reading, visiting historical sites and museums, spending time with my family, and learning.
CTE directly impacts my life and career as the facilitator of training and development for an aeronautics manufacturing company. My husband is a production superintendent for an industrial gasses manufacturer. We live in region that is heavily concentrated in industry and manufacturing. Our area is referred to as the "Chemical Corridor" and many of our relatives, neighbors, and friends are employed in one of the local plants. The jobs and revenue generated by these facilities contribute in many wonderful ways to our community. Many of the local plants and facilities partner with our local school systems and CTE programs to provide internships, scholarships, and necessary donations.
